Development Assessment - Domestic Application

This application lodgement process only applies to CairnsPlan 2016 applications.
For Development Applications using the Cairns Planning Scheme 2009 (Superseded Planning Scheme), please lodge your application directly with Council in person.

  • Domestic applications include:
    • Building Works as concurrence agency assessment
    • Building Works assessable against the Planning Scheme
    • Code application for non-compliance of 1-3 acceptable outcomes.
    • Demolition or removal of house within a Character Precinct
    • Material Change of Use for a Dwelling House (A new House)
  • Online applications can be made via desktop or laptop devices. Mobile devices (e.g. smartphones, tablets) are not currently supported.
  • This is a lodgement service only and acceptance of this application does not constitute a Properly Made Application. Council officers will contact you in due course to advise whether the application is properly made.
  • Fees associated with the Application will be calculated based on the details provided in the Proposal. If you have entered incorrect information that has an effect on the fee calculation, Council officers will contact you.
  • Council reserves the right to request additional fees if required once the application is received and the scope of the application assessed.
